Community Team Update – Attendance, Training & Season Info
Hi everyone,
As we head into our final weeks before matches start for the 2026 season, I need to share some essential updates regarding team management, training protocols, and the season schedule.
1. Attendance & Squad Vacancies
Most of our community teams are now at full capacity, and we have a growing waiting list.
- Action Required: Every registered player must attend training next week. If you are no longer playing, please email Registrar@IpswichFC.com.au
- Squad Maintenance: If a player does not attend next week without prior notification, they may be removed from the registration to make room for those on the waiting list.
- Other Sports: We understand some summer sports are still finishing up, but we cannot turn away families if current registrants are not showing up to claim their spots.
2. Training Protocols & Supervision
Our coaches and staff are volunteers dedicated to developing your children’s skills; however, they are not a babysitting service.
- Parental Presence: Parents must remain at the training area and cannot drop off children or wait in their vehicles.
- Immediate Availability: Guardians must be immediately available to assist coaches if a child needs the bathroom, is upset, misbehaves, or is injured.
- Punctuality: We have had several instances where coaches have had to stay back for over 30 minutes waiting for parents to collect their children; please ensure you are visible at the grounds 5 minutes before the session ends.
3. Important Reminders
- Gear: Shin guards are mandatory for every session.
- Hydration: Please ensure every player brings a full drink bottle.
- Grounds: Take your rubbish with you or place it in the bins provided.
4. Online Player Portal: “Did You Know?”
All your team information is available in one place via your portal:
- How to access: Click “Player List / Register” on the left panel, then click the orange “Team View” button under the player’s name.
- What you will see: You can view the Upcoming Schedule, Team Officials (Coaches and Managers), and the full Player Roster.
5. Volunteers: Many Hands Make Light Work
Ipswich FC is built on the hard work of volunteers. Currently, some teams still need a coach, and most teams need a team manager.
- Before you complain: Please ask yourself, have you offered to volunteer yet?
6. Season Start Date & Uniforms
- Match Dates: Matches are scheduled to begin from Saturday, 2 May due to the ANZAC Day weekend.
- What to wear: Training kits are recommended. For matches, community teams wear black shorts and black socks with the jersey provided by the club.
- We look forward to a great season ahead. See you at the grounds next week!
Regards,
Todd
